On Thursday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) told supporters gathered at a gun show in Virginia that he believes that gun owners can be responsible gun owners.
He said that as a single mom, he feels that if we as a society are willing to take the risk, we can have the kind of gun laws that are responsible.
“If you’re going to be a responsible gun owner, I think that we should be able to have the laws that protect us,” he said.
“And if that means having a gun in every home, that means a background check, that requires a background, that gives us a mechanism to make sure that we have a safe society.”
The senator, who has not yet decided whether to run for president in 2020, is currently the only member of the Senate to vote against the background check bill that passed the House last week.
It passed the Senate by a vote of 51-48.
The House passed it by a wide margin of 419-6.
Sanders said he will take a position on the bill that will “help the American people.”
He also praised the president for his stance on gun violence.
“The President has said, ‘This is not about guns, this is about mental health,'” Sanders said.
When pressed on the timing of the comments, Sanders said that it was a decision that was made by the president.
He also noted that the president has been outspoken on the issue.
“I don’t think he ever took a position until the week before the election.
And I think it’s a very difficult thing for the President to do,” Sanders said of the President’s stance on the gun control issue.
Sanders added that he also hopes that Democrats can find common ground on gun policy in the future.
Sanders, a Democrat who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, has been an outspoken advocate for gun control measures in the wake of mass shootings that have occurred in the United States. “
So, I hope that Democrats will take that position and work together to make it happen,” he added.

The senator said that if he were elected president, he would sign an executive order that would ban the sale of assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and high-powered rifles.
Sanders has also said that his stance will allow for gun manufacturers to sell the weapons in America, and he also said the government should have a “strong” gun control program.
