The NHL has announced a new tool that lets you install an open, cross-platform proxy on your PC or Mac.
The new tool, called OpenVPN for Windows, lets you set up and use an Internet-facing proxy on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android.
It’s not quite ready for prime time yet, but the NHL is working with Microsoft to get it ready.
This isn’t the first time the NHL has partnered with a cloud-based service to let fans stream their games on their devices.
Back in January, the NHL also announced a partnership with Cloudflare that allowed fans to stream games using their own servers and on their own PCs.
This time around, the league has added a new option in the options menu.
To do this, head over to Settings > Network > OpenVPN.
Once you’ve enabled the option, you can now enable the VPN.
After you log into the service, the proxy will be available to the players in the NHL.
